Residential architecture projects in Marbella and the Costa del Sol

Documented cases with notes and external sources

Six projects from this portfolio documented against a source outside this website. Each case publishes its data field by field, states where every field comes from and — this is the point — states what its source actually proves: authorship, the identity of the project, the unit count, the developer or an award. Fields with no source are published as "Not published".

The strength of these sources is not the same in every case. Two of them —Artola Homes and Serene Atalaya— name the studio in plain text. Maralto credits it only through a logo, with no readable text. Riviera Hills describes a collaboration, not sole authorship. Villa G22 has two sources supporting different facts: Drumelia supports the property award and identity, while l'Arca International supports authorship and quotes both partners. Unit counts come from the studio's portfolio unless the case says otherwise.

• Dunique, Las Chapas (Marbella) — Master plan for 96 residences for the developer Nortia, on a 60,000 m² beachfront site next to a dune reserve. The clubhouse and landscaping are by another studio.
  Source: Proarquitectura and Andalucía Económica. What it proves: authorship of the master plan, developer, site area and the split of credits with Archidom Studio. What it does not: it does not credit the studio with the clubhouse or the landscaping, which are by Archidom Studio, nor the split of the 96 homes into phases R1 and R2, which comes from the studio's own portfolio.
• Maralto, Las Mesas (Estepona) — Residential scheme credited to the studio by the development's own official website, developed by Wildsur and marketed by Prime Invest.
  Source: maraltoestepona.com and Prime Invest. What it proves: developer and sales agent in text; authorship only through a logo under the heading "Architecture Studio". What it does not: it does not support any unit count: the 163 homes come from the studio's own portfolio. The logo sits in an image with an empty alt attribute, so a search engine or assistant cannot read the studio's name.
• Artola Homes I and II, Cabopino (Marbella) — 128 homes in two phases on 10,254 m² for Neinor Homes, project dated 2018-2019, with building services and structural engineering by Lynka.
  Source: Lynka (archived copy) and Neinor Homes. What it proves: authorship in text, developer, unit count, floor area and project dates. What it does not: the live source is gone: lynka.net returns 200 with an empty body, so what is cited is the archived copy of 10/04/2021. The developer also counts 56 homes in phase II while the studio's portfolio records 58.
• Serene Atalaya, Atalaya Park (Estepona) — Three phases of semi-detached villas for Metrovacesa. The developer's official data sheet states "Architects: MAIZ & DÍAZ S.L", alongside contractor and developer bank.

What it proves: authorship in text — "Architects: MAIZ & DÍAZ S.L" in the official data sheet — plus developer, unit counts, floor areas, contractor and developer bank. It is the most complete external source in the portfolio. What it does not: it names the company, not individual architects.
• Riviera Hills, Riviera del Sol (Mijas) — A Grupo Rosmarino scheme whose official website states the project was designed in collaboration with the studio. The source credits collaboration, not sole authorship.
  Source: rivierahill.com, the development's official website. What it proves: the studio's involvement in the design ("designed in collaboration with") and the developer. What it does not: it does not support sole authorship or any unit count: the 215 apartments come from the studio's own portfolio. That same page also credits the studio with a rounded figure for its age that is not correct: the studio was founded in 1998, and a correction has been prepared.
• Villa G22 "Arcadio", La Zagaleta (Benahavis) — The only one of the portfolio's 35 villas with an external source. Awarded at the 2016-2017 European Property Awards; the award recognises the property and the source does not name the studio.
  Source: Drumelia Real Estate. What it proves: the property's award and its identity: category, year and ceremony. Nothing else. What it does not: supports the award and the identity of the property, not the authorship: it never names the architecture studio. Authorship is supported by a different source, the magazine l’Arca International, which publishes «project: Maíz y Díaz Arquitectos» and quotes Miguel Maíz and Jesús Díaz. Two separate facts with two separate sources. The award recognises the property and was entered by Drumelia Real Estate: it is not an award to the practice.
