In Mijas, Maiz & Diaz Arquitectos has worked mainly on large-scale residential developments. It is the municipality where the studio has designed some of its highest unit counts.

6 projects published in Mijas.

The best-known scheme in the municipality is Royal Palms, in La Cala de Mijas: 203 apartments built in three phases. Royal Palms I won a European Property Award in 2023 in the Residential Developments Spain category; the award recognises the development, not the studio.

Also in Mijas are Riviera Hills, with 215 apartments, Cabo Royale, with 21 villas in Calahonda, Alma, with 16 apartments, and Arosa, with 54 apartments in Torrenueva.

These schemes alone add up to more than 500 homes designed in the municipality. The work is supported by an in-house BIM department, which coordinates architecture, engineering and site supervision.

How we work

Initial consultation, concept design, planning permission documentation, construction documentation and BIM coordination. Every commission is quoted individually: fees depend on scope, floor area, complexity, location and the phases contracted.
